Our global commitment

As a major global manufacturer, we take our commitment to the environment seriously. Environmental Vision 2021 is the long-term environmental management vision of the Mitsubishi Electric Group. With the guideline of making positive contributions to the earth and its people through technology and action, the Company is working toward the realization of a sustainable society utilizing wide-ranging and sophisticated technologies as well as the promotion of proactive and ongoing actions by our employees. The Vision sets 2021 as its target year, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Mitsubishi Electric's founding.

We are currently working within our 6th Environmental Plan (Fiscal 2010-2012) which further details the specific targets and actions we are undertaking over this period.

Count ME In Within the Mitsubishi Electric UK office, we have created an awareness and communication platform called Count ME In. This has enabled us to better communicate with our staff and for them to raise any issues or ideas they may have. It was a central part of our strategy when we obtained our ISO14001 Environmental Standard as we wanted to involve our staff in the process.

Schools Programme

As part of our wish to engage with the community we have developed a schools programme called Learning Curve. By demonstrating how the way we use energy in our buildings impacts on our environment, we hope raise awareness of energy efficiency and to show that individual behaviour can make areal difference
